2018, April 21
- Idaho Falls Temple, Idaho Falls, Idaho for Alysha Jackman's personal endowment. (Chris was her escort. Alysha, Ryan, Carol Mikesell, and Ryan's grandparents are pictured below.)
- Chef Shane's Perspective (closed a few years later), Idaho Falls, Idaho. (This place was known for it's one man kitchen--Chef Shane. Food was incredible! It was especially fun to watch him at work.)
2019, April 25-27
- Spitz, Salt Lake City, Utah (Mediterranean Food--delicious and healthy!)
- Czech Film Festival, Salt Lake City, Utah (We lasted about 10 minutes. "Not Rated" took on a new meaning. Czech films don't have the same filters we do.)
- The AirBnB we stayed at that night added to the adventure. Rented single bedrooms don't make great anniversary accommodations.
- Hruska's Kolache, West Jordan, Utah (Czech Kolaches don't need a filter, thank goodness. Our favorites are the ones with cheese fillings.)
- Salt Lake Public Library, Salt Lake City, Utah (Wow! this library is massive. Interesting architecture too. Oh, and a fun little shop.)
- Stoneground Italian Kitchen, Salt Lake City, Utah (Last minute lunch choice that was right across the street from the library. It didn't disappoint.)
- We spent the evening helping Grandma and Grandpa Pack with making mulch that we then used to beautify the side yard and put around their trees. We enjoyed working and eating dinner with the Roger Pack family too. Sweet Alissandra worked hard as Chris' particular assistant.)
- Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival at Ashton Gardens, Lehi, Utah (It was a beautiful morning at the Tulip Festival. Spending time with Brandon, Carolyn, Grace and Gavin made it that much more special. Somehow involving others in our activities make them more meaningful.)
- It was prom back in Blackfoot, so we rushed home to be part of the festivities.
2020, February 25-28
- Salt Lake City, Utah
- Rootstech (Just months before the global pandemic shut down.)
- Bruges and Fritz: Belgian Waffles and Fries (I like their motto: "indulgence without the jet lag!")
- Lion House Pantry (Always a good home cooked meal of comfort food.)
2021, April 1-5
- Midway, Utah
- Vzlamiaut: Restaurant Venezuela Mia
- Conference weekend (Sophie snuck into our lives while we were away!)
- Bohemian Brewery (Always a treat.)
- Les Miserables at Hale Center Theatre Sandy (We were privileged to see Gentri play the main roles, the same roles that brought them together in 2014.)
- Aunt Nancy Moss Reese's Funeral (Chris' sweet aunt Nancy.)
2022, May 6-7
- April 25th Dinner Out: El Vaquero (One of our favorite's in Blackfoot. Delicious Mexican fare--especially the Molcajete.)
- Temple Sealings, Idaho Falls Temple
- Rexburg, Idaho
- Original Thai (Top five go to's in Rexburg.)
- AirBnB (single room in a large home of friendly peeps)
- Madison Hospital Cafe
- Jenny Oaks Baker Concert at BYU-Idaho (Signed copy of her CD!)
2023, April 14-15
- Trip to Hawaii for Ally's Graduation and Ben's new business activity (Seating Innovations) trumped our usual celebration.
2024, April 25-26
- Surprise by Ben: Celebration of 28 Years
- Hello Girls at Hale Center Theater Orem (Fun yet moving musical about the ladies who helped in World War I as switch board operators, but not recognized for it until 60 years after.)
- Church History Museum of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (We wanted to see the newly acquired artifacts [sold by the Community of Christ Church]--Liberty Jail Door, portraits of Emma and Joseph Smith, and transcription documents.)
- La Caille (Chris' dream come true. It definitely lived up to the hype. Loved our waiter--the honey guy.)
- Sad news by Chris: Divorce (see new blog)
